Uber needs Node 24 or later and pnpm:
Set these in the environment or in .env:
  • A model provider’s API key, such as OPENAI_API_KEY. See Models.
  • GITHUB_TOKEN, a token that can read the repository. See GitHub access.
  • REBUNO_AGENT_SECRET, the agent’s secret in rebuno.yaml (uber-secret).
Start the kernel and the agent:
Install the terminal client and open a session from a clone of the repository you want to work on:
Ask it Explain how this project is structured. The agent clones the repository’s GitHub origin, and its model output and tool calls stream into the client.

GitHub access

The agent gets a GitHub token for the session’s repository on each dispatch:
  • GITHUB_TOKEN is used as given.
  • GITHUB_APP_ID and GITHUB_APP_PRIVATE_KEY (a PEM, or a base64-encoded PEM) set a GitHub App installed on the repository. Each dispatch mints a token for that repository, valid for an hour.
Reading the repository needs read access to its contents. Pushing needs write access to contents, and the GitHub MCP server to pull requests, issues, and Actions. The token is never recorded.

From the CLI

Each turn is an execution of the uber agent. repo names the repository, and later turns in the session keep it:
